Patchwork Lake Ice Quilt

A patchwork quilt appears in the lake ice, creating a frozen pattern as the lake stretches away from the shoreline. As the lake froze more deeply, snow had fallen and blown across the surface. As a result, it created these organic shapes on the lake surface, revealing the edges and contours of the individual ice floes that had become locked together.
